New Friends!

New Friends!

Every new dog who comes to the Doggie Spot is an exciting addition to our family. When they haven't had much opportunity to socialize with other dogs before, it's doubly exciting. Cowboy the Aussie and Moe the Boston came for their first couple days of daycare this week. They haven't spent time with many other dogs besides each other. They had so much fun meeting everyone!

Moe and Payton were instant friends, even though Payton the quick Italian greyhound ran circles around Moe, the powerfully built Boston.

Elderly citizen Kaydie really took to Cowboy, inviting him to play and walking around with him. Usually she doesn't show any interest in anyone but those in her own family.

This week we had the exciting opportunity of welcoming Fiona, a four month old rat terrier pup. Fiona is very timid and nervous of other dogs, but even in her first couple days of daycare she has begun to learn that other dogs mean fun, not fear.

Moe is sensitive enough to nervous Fiona that she feels comfortable with him.

Groomer's Corner
Koda is VERY hot in his full husky coat.

Linda shaves away the hot heavy fur on Koda's sides and belly.

A double bath washes away all the loose fur.

Koda feels cool and looks hot in his new Mohawk!

Sasha looks like a teddy bear instead of a poodle, time for a haircut!

Linda shaves away all the fluff.

Linda cuts Sasha's nails carefully with rounded clippers, so as not to squeeze the quick.

Sasha is unspeakably adorable after her cut!

Bye Bye Bella!

Bye Bye, Bella!

Bella and her family are moving away, and although we at the Doggie Spot are so sad to see her go, we wish her and her family all the best!

Bella has been coming to play at the Doggie Spot for years. She loves her ball more than life itself, and she always entertains us all with her gymnastics as she catches her ball in middair. She has become so special to both her human and doggie friends here, and the Doggie Spot won't be the same without her. We'll miss you Bella!

Groomer's Corner
Our wonderful groomer, Linda, has over 20 years of experience and an endless supply of patience and love for the dogs she works with. She does an awesome job making our dogs here at the Doggie Spot stylish and cool. Call now, and give your dog that special spring in his step that only comes from a great haircut!

Bruce Willis, Pre-groom. Can you see me, Bruce?

Linda makes careful decisions about the cut she is about to give while taking a moment to make sure Bruce feels comfortable.

Linda uses her scissors to trim around Bruce's face, creating clean lines.

All finished! Look at how handsome Bruce is, and how pretty his eyes are, now that we can see them!

August 11th, 2013: New Fences!

If you have been following our blog you may have noticed an absence of posts for the last couple of weeks. This is because we are changing our blog. We will no longer post all of the week's pictures here, but don't worry! You can still find all of the week's pictures on our Facebook page, by searching for us in Facebook or going to this link: https://www.facebook.com/thedoggiespot

Add Peppers Parker as a Friend on Facebook to be tagged in your dog's pictures!

Here, on our blog, you will find stories from the week, useful articles, and updates about everything going on at the Doggie Spot.

Both the Facebook and the blog will be updated weekly.

It has been a big couple of weeks for the Doggie Spot. We replaced our fences!

Amy, one of the two owners of the Doggie Spot, cuts the fence down to size and welds it together.

Cam, our other owner, and Morgan, our newest Alpha Dog here at the Doggie Spot, work hard putting in the new fencing.

The largest of our three play pens now has a six foot fence, to foil our fence jumping escape artists.
This pen can now be divided into two pens by a five foot high gate.

We have a total of four play pens at our disposal, as well as a baby pen for puppies and tiny, timid dogs.

While we're showing off our awesome pens, we might as well show you our crate area and backyard. Here Pepper relaxes in her crate during nap time on her first day at daycare.

Everybody needs a nap after playing hard all morning!

Most of our dogs go up in crates for naptime and over night, but if your dog, like Logan here, would like to sprawl out in a pen, we're happy to accomodate!

Plenty of room and playground equipment to play with make the backyard a fun place.  Dogs get to run outside every couple of hours while playing in the comfort of the climate controlled pens inside for the majority of the day.
